“A Brilliant Lie” opened their fall tour at Bombshell’s Tavern in Orlando, Florida Wednesday September 26, 2018. MarkHoran.Pictures was on assignment covering the event for MNPR Magazine. Bombshell’s Tavern has a dark, narrow, and small concert venue in a separate room behind the traditional tavern. Donned with couches and upholstered chairs, this dark venue has reasonably audible acoustics in a great intimate setting. On this evening, five bands were slotted to take the stage, and the equipment staging half-filled the viewing area in front of the stage leaving limited space for the crowd in attendance. With short sets and a midweek crowd, the atmosphere mirrored a dress rehearsal for 4 of the 5 bands. “A Brilliant Lie” brought their signature explosively-energetic performance in their short set, before the night’s largest audience.
“A Brilliant Lie” was invited to join Cardigan Records recording artist, “Rookie of The Year” on this short tour. Tour dates include 17 cities in 13 states over 18 days. The tour started in Orlando, extending north to Portland Maine, and as far west as St. Louis, Missouri traveling by van with trailer in tow. This is a grueling schedule and I am confident I witnessed what all audiences will see from “A Brilliant Lie” during this fall tour without fatigue.

Rise and Fall
This Means War
City Under Siege, is a rock trio from Buffalo, New York they were the first band of the evening to bless the stage. Their short set appeared to be a sound check as the other bands scurried to load in their equipment and the house PA adjusted the monitors and lighting. They definitely have talent that I could have listened to in a full set.
John Wittlinger - lead vocals, guitar
Cameron Kukla - drums
Vince Davis - bass
The Victory Drive, Power Pop hailing from Belmar Beach, New Jersey was the second band of the night with a few songs to a scattered crowd. This band is managed by Lexi Vito on keyboards, but she was absent in Wednesday’s show.
Jamie McClanahan – Vocals/Guitar
Lexi Vito - Keyboards
Dan Babcock - Drums
Adam Wirth – Bass
Oklahoma Stackhouse, is an Orlando 7-piece ska band, which is a combination of reggae, jazz, and rhythm and blues. What appeared as controlled chaos overflowing the small stage, turned out to be a polished band with a fresh sound. A full show from this band must be an entertaining evening.
Jack Hinz - Guitar/Vocals
Nick Muccigrosso - Drums
Jeremy Hagen - Bass
Andrew Kelly - Sax/Keys
Austin Kelly - Trumpet
Andy Smith - Trombone
Kevin Greene – Percussion
Rookie of The Year, from North Carolina was formed in 2006 and quickly moved on to Billboard top 100. After 6 years of touring, the band took a hiatus until 2017 when returning to touring and working on new material.
